Gert Wollschläger
1956 - 2026
We are deeply saddened to share that Gert Wollschläger passed away today after a short and unfair battle. He was born on 22 April 1956.
Gert was born in Berlin, where he grew up surrounded by country music and rock ’n’ roll. From an early age, he developed a passion for movement and dance, beginning with square dancing at school and later exploring ballroom and Latin American dance. Over time, his interests shifted toward a broader range of sports, where he dedicated many years as both a trainer and a respected judge.
Gert was a founding member of the WorldCDF and had been closely involved with our organization ever since. He was also an international judge and, together with Susi and Gaby, the event director of the Berlin Open, where his commitment and passion left a lasting mark.
Gert will be remembered for his dedication, his knowledge, and the positive impact he had on so many lives through sport and education.
We send Susi and Helen our heartfelt strength, love, and support during this difficult time.

The World Country Dance Federation (WorldCDF) was established in Europe with the aim of promoting the art and sport of country dance at every level, from social and competitive to professional. We achieve this by embracing a range of styles and music, and our activities are open to individuals of all ages.
We are committed to supporting country dance enthusiasts around the globe, including both competitors and social dancers, and we are open to any form of collaboration that can enhance the experience for dancers.
